MYTH AND FACTS ABOUT RHINOPLASTY SURGERY

Some of the most common misconceptions about the rhinoplasty procedures:

MYTH1. RHINOPLASTY IS A SIMPLE PROCEDURE

People think that rhinoplasty is a simple cosmetic procedure but really nose is a complex and visible structure of the face so any surgical procedure aimed at changing it requires focus and skill. In fact, rhinoplasty is considered one of the most complex and difficult cosmetic procedures. Dr. Sunil will dedicate the necessary time to understand the patient problem of the nose and explain to the patient about all aspects of the prognosis of surgery. He will evaluate an individual’s nasal passages, bone and cartilage structure, and skin thickness before nose surgery to develop a safe and best treatment plan.

MYTH2. I CAN GET ANY TYPE OF NOSE SHAPE WHAT I WANT

During rhinoplasty, the shape of the nose adjusts according to the rest of the facial features but not copy of someone other faces because the nose is unique just like our fingerprints and teeth so no one can copy another nose.

MYTH3.  NEED TO HIDE AWAY AND REST FOR MONTHS AFTER SURGERY

After rhinoplasty to support and healing keep a small splint on the nose for up to a week. Patients will have minor swelling and bruising around the eyes and nose following rhinoplasty, but by day 3rd or 4th, much of the swelling and bruising should be gone.

MYTH4. RHINOPLASTY IS ONLY FOR AESTHETICS

Rhinoplasty surgery is not only useful for aesthetic, the other use of rhinoplasty for functional and nasal reconstruction also:

  • Improve breathing and clear airway
  • For correct a birth defect of the nose
  • Repair damage from an injury
